Our client is an independent South African financial services group providing comprehensive investment products and services to third party asset managers, asset consultants, IFAs, and employee benefit consultants. As a growing company, they now require a COO to be the right-hand person to the CEO. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the financial services industry, with strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business with a creative point of view.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to drive strategic goals and operational excellence.
Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize operational improvements across 2 entities.
Team Leadership: Lead, grow and coach a small, high-performing team across operations, finance, and compliance.
Risk Management: Mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including Board of Directors and external service providers.
Reporting: Enhance reporting and data automation processes and evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics.
Requirements:
10-15 years of experience in the financial services industry, with 5+ of those years in a senior management role.
A Business degree.
CA (preferred but not essential)
Proven leadership and business optimisation experience.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and excellent communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, goal-oriented, and passionate about building high-performing teams
Preferably experience of having worked your way up to an executive/senior role.
