Our client is a specialist management consultancy dedicated to delivering innovative solutions within the asset management, banking and retail industries. Their experienced consultants work closely with clients in South Africa and the UK to offer expert advisory services, transformation support, implementation of efficient processes, all ensuring regulatory compliance. 

The Business Analyst will work closely with clients to understand project outcomes and, through a structured process, model, validate, and translate client needs into detailed business requirements. These requirements will serve as the foundation for crafting technical and/or business solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes.

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through tools such as Business Requirements Documents (BRD), process analysis, feasibility studies, gap analysis, due diligence, and needs assessments.

  • Ensure full stakeholder engagement and agreement on documented requirements.

  • Collect critical information from meetings and produce actionable outputs.

  • Participate in the solution design process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

  • Define test cases and acceptance criteria for unit and/or user acceptance testing.

  • Assist with unit and/or user acceptance testing to validate solutions.

  • Communicate insights and plans clearly to cross-functional teams and management.

  • Proactively escalate potential risks or issues and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Manage deliverables independently, ensuring timely and successful completion.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a BA within the finance or retail industry.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or a certificate/diploma in Business Analysis from an industry-recognized institution (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of operational processes in the finance or retail industry.

  • Effective client communication and ability to facilitate workshops.

  • Proficient in MS Project and other project management tools.

  • High attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Proactive and creative thinker who can propose novel solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.

  • Skilled at managing multiple Business Analyst deliverables simultaneously while maintaining quality and focus.

  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
