Our client is a specialist management consultancy dedicated to delivering innovative solutions within the asset management, banking and retail industries. Their experienced consultants work closely with clients in South Africa and the UK to offer expert advisory services, transformation support, implementation of efficient processes, all ensuring regulatory compliance.
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead, manage, and ensure the successful execution of projects from inception through to completion. The primary responsibility is to plan, organize, direct, and control the project activities to ensure they are completed effectively, efficiently, and within scope, time, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and assign clear project roles and responsibilities.
Apply best practice Project Management Office (PMO) methodologies.
Oversee and manage the performance of the project team.
Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project plans, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule.
Prioritize project tasks and manage conflicting demands to ensure deadlines are met.
Monitor and manage project scope, evaluating the impact of any changes on budget, timeline, and risk.
Identify and resolve project issues promptly, minimizing any impact on deliverables or timelines.
Manage the project budget effectively, ensuring completion within the allocated financial resources.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their expectations are managed and exceeded.
Maintain clear, consistent communication with all project stakeholders.
Lead and facilitate key project meetings, including daily stand-ups, steering committee sessions, and executive committee (Exco) meetings.
Provide mentorship and guidance to the team to foster growth and development.
Requirements and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PM in the financial services or retail industry.
Prince2 Practitioner certification (preferred).
Advanced Project Management Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Proficient in MS Project and other project management tools.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven problem-solving abilities.
Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
