Our client, an independent South African financial services group, based in Southern Suburbs Cape Town, is seeking a Business Consultant to join their team.
The purpose of the role is to promote the platform’s products and services and increase market share.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product sales delivery:
Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of The Platform’s product range and our services.
Gain an understanding of the FSP’s needs, financial goals and means, and provide the right product that will satisfy the goals of the FSP in the best and most efficient way possible.
Continuously update and inform FSPs of our products, new products, or changes in existing products. Manage, review, and incorporate the implications of new products with the FSPs.
Submit new business through the right channels within the team.
Conduct initial due diligence on clients to identify and flag risks before sending the client for onboarding to the greater team.
Manage own capacity to ensure daily appointments are being prioritised, targets are being met, while allowing time for and capitalising on integrating with the team and understanding the business model.
2. Client service and client retention:
Responsible for servicing and managing all potential new clients brought on to ensure clients remain on the books.
Conduct follow-ups, and remain in contact to address potential queries or to provide support.
Provide reporting on client feedback and identify areas of improvement
Proactively identify where support will be required.
Apply product knowledge to accurately guide FSPs through onboarding and sales of products process.
Resolve various types of client queries as far as possible or escalate queries to the right team members.
Follow up on the status and continuously provide feedback to the client.
3. Quality, compliance and continuous development:
Remain up to date with and continuously adhere to compliance and quality standards.
Keep up to date with product knowledge and maintenance of own CPD points (if required).
4. Monthly planning and reporting:
Responsible for reporting on activities daily, through using relevant technology platforms.
Collate data on activities to deliver on weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.
Perform any ad-hoc requirements as requested by the Business Development Manager.
Provide monthly feedback reports to line manager of the division and the BDM.
Qualifications and Experience:
BCom or equivalent qualification
RE5 advantageous
FAIS Compliant as per DOFA requirements.
Class of Business training -Long Term Insurance (to be completed within 12-months of employment)
3-5 year experience in a sales or business development roles.
Client service.
Product sales and cross-selling tactics and strategies (client optimisation).
Knowledge on the investment landscape including regulatory requirements and guidelines for selling and providing advice would be ideal.
Knowledge on investment linked insurance products would be advantageous.
