Our client, an Urban Property Developer and Rental Agency, is rapidly expanding its footprint in the hospitality sector and seeking a Bookkeeper to join their Financial Team.

As the Bookkeeper and part of the key finance function of our growing business, you will play a critical role in managing the financial health and stability of the company. You will be responsible for ensuring the accounts are kept up to date daily and accurately. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.

  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

  • Manage relationships with staff, ensuring information is obtained timely and accurately.

  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary updates.

  • Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, helping to drive business growth and profitability.

  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.

  • Providing support where applicable to the Finance Accountant and Management.

  • General ad hoc duties as the company sees fit.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or similar non-negotiable

  • Xero accounting software experience preferred

  • SAIPA qualification preferred

  • Hospitality related experience preferred, namely short-term letting as a managing agent

  • Must love a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • A highly-organised individual who is responsible to manage tasks on their own

  • Hard-worker, efficient, deadline focused, high attention to detail and strong ability to self-review work

  • Incredibly neat and have extensive experience with reporting to Executives

  • Must be good with people and work well in a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, Office) and Chrome suite (Google sheets etc)
